Getting Started
It's easy to listen to a story when you open StoryPlease. Just click on "kids" choose your story and start to hear your story with the default recordings.
You can also customize your experience by following the simple instructions here:
- In the "adult" menu section select "tell."
- Choose the story you want to record. The story will open to the first page and you will hear the default voice for the page.
- Press the record button on the bottom left corner of the screen.
- Talk into your phone to record your voice. When you are done, press the stop button.
- Listen to your recording and make sure you are happy with it.
- Check the Options Screen to Make sure "Default Voice" is set to off.
- Return to the kid menu and select your story to hear your personalized voice recording telling the story.
To fully utilize StoryPlease, check out the Options screen.
- Default voice: You can use the professional recordings that comes with StoryPlease, or you can record your own. If you decide you want to do your own recordings, turn off the default voice.
- Text Caption: Turn this on if you want the words to show so you can follow along with the voice recording. Its nice to follow along, but we've noticed that some people might want to record their own stories with the illustrations. We think that's cool, go with it! But then our captions might be a little confusing, so you might want to turn them off.
- Auto Play: Turn this on if you don't want to have to flip through pages. Turning auto play off makes it easier to skip forward and backward while listening to a story.
- Voice #: You can save more than 1 recording for each story. One for grandmom, one for crazy uncle Mylo, and one for you! This way your child can pick whose version of the story they feel like listening to.
